  • The AfterSchool Edge is designed for elementary school children ages 6-12.  With 70+ top-rated educational multi-curricular titles designed for elementary-age children, it is ideal for enrichment, intervention, homework help, and skill reinforcement.

Digital & Downloadable Content

Need help with our digital resources?  Appointments for one-on-one assistance are available!  Contact us to set up an appointment or for assistance.

D.I.Y. Carts

Our D.I.Y. carts will have everything you need to facilitate your creativity!  There will be an assortment of craft supplies from colored pencils to paint to duct tape.  You can create anything you want - whether you want to make a scrapbook page, a duct tape wallet, or spend some time free-creating!  In a joint partnership with the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Arts Council, these carts will be made available to the public at the Library and the Carnegie Center.

The Library's D.I.Y. cart also includes a Button-Maker, a Cricut machine, a digital photo printer, a laminating machine, a Polaroid camera, and a poster printer.

These carts are available to the public anytime the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Library and the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Arts Council are open for business.

These carts were funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services — Library Services and Technology Act Grants to States Program.

GLASS Accessible Technology

The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Library has accessible technology to assist patrons at the library.  We have a video magnifier, a text-to-speech converter, a high contrast keyboard, and portable magnifying devices, courtesy of GLASS (Georgia Library for Accessible Services).

For a list of software applications (apps) for mobile devices or phones that can be used by consumers who are visually impaired to read books, newspapers, magazines, or other print material, please see the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS)'s Reference Guide for Accessible Mobile Reading Apps.

Innovation Hub (Maker Space)

Our Innovation Hub consists of a Sprout by HP and a Dremel Idea Builder 3D Printer.  The Sprout will allow users to design to their heart’s content and make a 3-D scan of their design, which users can then print on the Dremel 3D Printer.

Bring your own item to scan and print, create a new design, or check out one of our preloaded designs!

Your first 3D object is free.  The cost for additional objects is:
  • $1.00 base charge per item printed, plus $0.10 per gram

If this will be your first time using our Innovation Hub, please contact us to schedule an appointment.  Otherwise, please call ahead so we can make sure the hub is ready for your use!
